Released in 1998, Up is the eleventh studio album from R.E.M. The album, featuring the singles “Daysleeper,” “Lotus,” “Suspicion” and “At My Most Beautiful,” draws inspiration from electronic music, using a wide range of tools to create a dreamy pop landscape that is reflective and moody. This expanded deluxe 25th anniversary edition also offers a complete previously unreleased live set from the band’s appearance in ’90s hit TV series Party of Five. It was the band’s first album without drummer Bill Berry. The album was influenced by electronic music, and Stipe stated that several songs address the “religious-spiritual versus science-technology-modern-age.” It reached #3 on the Billboard 200 and #2 in the UK. The 2CD edition also includes an exclusive 24” x 24” pull-out poster and four collectible postcards, as well as a booklet featuring new liner notes with reflections from the band.
