DISC 1 contains a somewhat spontaneous show Hendrix performed at the legendary Café Au Go in New York on the 17th March 1968, improvising blues progressions in commanding fashion. Largely instrumental jams, this set captures the electric chemistry with his bandmates and delivers a truly inspired performance to the lucky few in attendance. DISC 2 features rare tapes recorded in Jimi Hendrix’s rented ‘Shokan House’ in New York in the summer of 1969, where Hendrix and his Gypsy Sun and Rainbows bandmates recorded rehearsal jams in preparation for Woodstock ’69. These intimate recordings offer an invaluable insight into his creative process in the period leading up to his legendary appearance at the festival. Closing the set on DISC 3 is the incendiary show Hendrix and his renewed Experience performed at The Forum in California on 25 April 1970. In blistering form, the band tore through a setlist of material with a ferocity and precision that place this show among the finest Hendrix ever performed.
